Great book!  I’m most of the way through it, and Mr. Gerstner’s observations and experiences around the key things involved in turning IBM around are fascinating.  As he notes in the book, it’s not a “silver bullet” explanation.  It takes hard work, insight, and tough-mindedness.

Of particular interest is the section on just how critical it is to be aware of (and change) an organization’s culture.  At the end of every day, the most valuable asset of any corporation walks out the door and goes home to his or her family.  It really is all about the people.  Without great people working hard and being passionate about a company’s products, it will fail.
